Scholarship Advisement Program (SAP) focuses on college preparation
and retention for our Choctaw students. The program
goals are to support our students to set and achieve
high goals and standards. Services
offered include:
College Selection
Our experienced staff
advises students to help them make the best college choice
for their individual needs.
ACT Testing
The program provides
ACT test preparation workshops and consulting.
Scholarships and Grants
A major initiative for the program is monetary assistance
for college expenses through scholarships and grants.
Internships/Fellowships
Internships and
Fellowships will also be sought for qualifying students.
Summer Programs
We make students aware
of numerous summer programs to support their educational
efforts.
Peer Advisement & Mentoring
Student
retention is supported by peer advisors and mentors at
selected schools.

Below are some commonly
asked questions about college and how the SAP can help.
How do I apply? Clich the "Apply Online" tab.
Do you have to live in Oklahoma to sign-up
for Scholarship Advisement? No, we are nationwide.
When can I sign-up for SAP? Anyone who is a High
School Sophomore all the way through to students attending
undergraduate or graduate school.
Do you have to be Choctaw in order to be a member
of SAP? Yes, students must show proof with CDIB and
Choctaw Adult Membership card.
Can SAP help me choose a college? This
website has extensive information under the “College Selection” navigation
to help students and parents narrow the selection. The
SAP staff has relationships with numerous colleges.
Can SAP help me find scholarships? The SAP uses our database to match up students to find
possible scholarships. This doesn’t guarantee scholarships as all scholarships

Can SAP
help me find a internship? We
have a growing list of companies seeking interns. We seek
students & companies needing interns and try to match

Do you help with ACT Registration fees? Yes,
but only for students who attend our ACT Workshops. Please

How do I attend a Scholarship Advisement ACT Workshop? You
must live in one of the following Oklahoma Counties: Atoka,
Bryan, Choctaw, Coal, Haskell, Hughes, Latimer, Leflore,
McCurtain, Pittsburg and Pushmataha. (see our calendar
for upcoming dates)
What is the difference
between the Choctaw Nation’s
Higher Ed and SAP programs? Higher Ed is program that
offers Tribal Scholarships and BIA Grants that are overseen
by the Choctaw Nation. SAP seeks outside funding for scholarships.
The SAP has limited scholarships which are competitive
and in many cases for specific colleges. Scholarship awards
will vary.
