Do I have to live in Oklahoma to sign-up for Scholarship Advisement?
No, we are nationwide.
Any student who is a High School Freshman through undergraduate or graduate school may join SAP.
Do I have to be Choctaw in order to be a member of SAP?
Yes! SAP membership is restricted to members of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Students must show a Choctaw Nation membership card.
Can SAP help me choose a college?
Yes! It's one of the best - and most important - things we do. Start with this web site. It has extensive information under the College Selection tab in the "About" section. SAP works hard to help students - and parents - find the best college match. The SAP staff has relationships with numerous colleges. Contact us for more help and guidance.
Can SAP help me find scholarships?
Yes! SAP members may use our very powerful online database of scholarships. Custom built for Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma student scholars and parents, the database is only accessible to students and parents enrolled in the CNO Scholarship Advisement Program - with verified membership in the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Click the Scholarship navigation link. Please note: Scholarships are competitive. SAP cannot guarantee scholarship success.
Can SAP help me find a internship?
Yes! We have a growing list of companies seeking interns. Intern opportunities are also listed in our online Scholarship Database (see FAQ above or click the Scholarship navigation link). SAP works to match students seeking internships with companies and their needs.
Can SAP help with ACT Registration fees?
Yes! In two different ways:
- If you live in one of the following Oklahoma Counties: Atoka, Bryan, Choctaw, Coal, Haskell, Hughes, Latimer, Leflore, McCurtain, Pittsburg and Pushmataha, please see our calendar for upcoming ACT Workshop dates you may attend for free. Click the College Prep tab for more information.
- Beginning in 2010, for select SAP students, SAP launched a program to pay the fees for online ACT/SAT test preparation from Kaplan, the nation's leader in test preparation services. Contact SAP for details.
How do I attend a Scholarship Advisement ACT/SAT Workshop?
There are two ways to attend a FREE ACT/SAT Workshop:
- If you live in one of the following Oklahoma Counties: Atoka, Bryan, Choctaw, Coal, Haskell, Hughes, Latimer, Leflore, McCurtain, Pittsburg and Pushmataha, please see our calendar for upcoming ACT Workshop dates you may attend for free. Click the College Prep tab for more information.
- Beginning in 2010, for select SAP students, we have launched a program to pay the fees for online ACT/SAT test preparation from Kaplan, the nation's leader in test preparation services. Contact SAP for details.
What is the difference between the Choctaw Nation’s Higher Education and SAP programs?
Higher Ed is a program that offers Tribal Scholarships and BIA Grants that are overseen by the Choctaw Nation. SAP seeks outside funding for scholarships. SAP's scholarships are competitive and in some cases for specific colleges. Scholarship awards will vary.
