College dropout rates for Native Americans are among the highest of any American diversity group. That's why, in 2006, the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma (CNO) decided to fight back against the college dropout problem by creating the Choctaw Scholarship Advisement Program (SAP). SAP’s mission is simple: Prepare high-school Choctaw students for college and keep enrolled Choctaw college students on track to graduate. Enrollment in SAP is free. So are the services it now provides over 2,000 enrolled students and nearly 1,400 parents:
More than 2,000 of the CNO’s best and brightest students and parents now visit our Web site every month, hungry for information and advice. More than 4,000 now read SAP News, our online Monthly Newsletter. SAP's staff is busy every day talking to students and parents. You can help us reach more students and parents, and help defray costs and expand our partnerships for test preparation and scholarship database access. You can help us fight back against the Native American college drop-out rate with a tax-deductible donation to SAP. Nearly all donations made to SAP are eligible form 100 percent matching from the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. You can donate to create a scholarship, to help fund one of our partner programs, or provide a gift to SAP's general fund. Can I count on you for a donation to help put more Choctaw students in college – and keep them there through graduation? Sincerely, |
