College admission officers look for more than ACT Scores. They also want to see community and cultural involvement during the summer months. Summer is an especially good time to get involved in resume building with Native American activities.
Here are great summer programs for Choctaw students. Programs are varied. They begin early in high school and continue through graduate school.
NATIONAL PROGRAMS
College Horizons and Graduate Horizons - These are two of our favorite program for Native Americans. Every student who qualifies should attend. College Horizons is a pre-college program for Native American high school students open to current sophomores and juniors. Graduate Horizons is a four-day "crash course" for Native American college students, college graduates and master's students in preparing for graduate school (master's Ph.D. or professional school).
Leads Summer Business Institute - LEAD Business is a national partnership of top U.S. corporations and graduate business schools that encourages talented students from diverse backgrounds to pursue careers in business
